Once, while walking on a quiet sidewalk in Cape Town, I passed by a woman with grey dreadlocks. At that time my dreads had zero grey in them. They also had way too much wax in them, but that’s a whole other story. We smiled at each other as we passed, and I thought: one day I want to have grey dreads too.
